Do you feel self-conscious about having a misaligned smile? Do you want a discreet solution that can also provide superior cosmetic and oral health benefits? Dr. Richard D. Hulme in San Antonio, TX, is a Preferred Provider of Invisalign. He uses an approach that can achieve tooth movement faster and more accurately than the conventional approach, leaving room in your treatment timeline for additional fine-tuning. With a board-certified orthodontic specialist such as Dr. Hulme overseeing your Invisalign treatment, you can experience outstanding results.

Dr. Hulme can help patients achieve exceptionally precise results using custom Invisalign mouthpieces.

About Invisalign

Instead of the metal brackets and wires used in traditional braces, Invisalign uses a custom series of clear, removable aligners to straighten teeth. In addition to being virtually invisible, Invisalign offers patients several other advantages, including:

  • Improved comfort due to smooth, form-fitting surfaces
  • Virtually no risk of injury or irritation to gums or lips
  • No dietary restrictions because the trays can be removed when eating or drinking
  • Easy brushing and flossing requiring no extra hassle or special tools

Dr. Hulme is a board-certified orthodontic specialist with extensive training focused on dental alignment, making him uniquely qualified to oversee your Invisalign treatment.

Is Invisalign Right for You?

Invisalign can be used to correct mild to moderate malocclusions such as:

  • Overbite
  • Underbite
  • Open bite
  • Overcrowding
  • Crossbite
  • Gapped teeth

Severe issues may require braces. During a free consultation, Dr. Hulme will perform a thorough assessment to determine which treatment approach is best for your needs. If he determines that traditional braces are the most appropriate treatment, you may qualify for clear ceramic braces that are far less noticeable than metal brackets and wires.

The Hulme Orthodontics Difference

At Hulme Orthodontics, patients can expect world-class care. Dr. Hulme is a board-certified orthodontic specialist with extensive training focused on dental alignment, making him uniquely qualified to oversee your Invisalign treatment. If he determines that Invisalign is right for you, he will plan your treatment using digital x-rays, digital imaging, and iTero® digital impressions. He may also recommend a special approach that can provide better results in the same amount of time as a conventional Invisalign treatment.

As opposed to the typical treatment process in which patients wear a new aligner about every two weeks, this approach involves wearing each aligner for only a week. The main purpose of this approach is to take you about 80 percent of the way to ideal alignment in about half the normal treatment time. The remaining treatment timeline can be focused on fine-tuning your smile for the best possible results.

This approach is also far more comfortable. Less tooth movement happens per tray, which minimizes discomfort and achieves more precise tooth movement.

After Treatment

You will need to wear a retainer for a period after completing Invisalign treatment in order to maintain your results. Dr. Hulme will provide instructions regarding proper retainer use.
